Helpful Tips about lessons!
Optional Lessons:
These are optional! You may skip them. BUT if you do you must then do the next, non-optional lesson that day. For example. If lesson 1 is optional and you skip it you must then find lesson 2 and do it that day instead. The OLS automatically adjusts lessons forward/backward. If you miss a lesson/day of lessons you will find those lessons will appear now on the next day they would normally show. For example, if you do not do math today, today's math lesson will be on tomorrow's plan. You are essentially behind a lesson until you make one up. (See Directions on how to skip lessons at the bottom of this page)
Suggestion:
Each week print off or Jot down your weekly plan (Lessons) so that you have it in case you get off track.
How many Lessons per week?
Each week in the newsletter that is sent on Friday you will see how many/what lessons to do that week for Math, Writing Skills, Lit and Comp, and Science.
For the other classes each week students will have the following amount of lessons per course show on their weekly plan for a 5 day week. If the week is short the lessons will be less as well.
Vocabulary- 5 lessons per normal week
Spelling- 5 lessons per normal week
Math Appendix- This course is NOT done daily- It appears daily so you can grab the lessons as needed per the PDF sent to you in email (Also available on this website at the bottom of this page.)
History- 3 lessons per week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Social Studies- 1 lesson/ week on Wednesdays
Art- 2 lessons per week on Monday and Wednesday
Handwriting- 5 lessons/week
This site is constantly under construction. Each 2nd grade teacher will be adding additional information and resources, editing, and improving pages for you as the year continues.
