Typing:
Students will be asked to type their writing lessons for this reason I have included typing programs. In our digital world it is important our student learn to type. You can log any time spent learning typing under Technology. The school will be supporting typing.com. More information to come.

Tips for making writing more fun!
Writing is not always kids favorite thing to do, but as teachers and LCs we know this is a crucial skill for our children. So what do we do to help them enjoy the process.
Have your student make lists of their favorites: people, places, toys etc. When they don't know what to write have them go to their favorite list to help them brainstorm ideas. 1. Let the student "sketch" a picture of the story they are going to write. This is done with only a pencil and small details. 2. Have the student write a story that matches the sketch. 3. Use your editing check list to help keep them focus and learn to be more independent. 4. Let the student use crayons and markers to fill in the sketch to make it a detailed picture. You can how to draw worksheets out for him/her to add to the writing. *See Mrs. Fuller's Pinterest page for copies of drawing pages and fun writing prompts! https://www.pinterest.com/mrstraceyfuller/writing/ |
